Whats the best video capture software?

I have an ATi Tv Tuner VE card and I dont really like their capture software. Any suggestions on capture software that works well and has good compression? Thanks.

Nothing beats VirtualDub -- it's easy to use -- it's fast and compresses into the DivX;-) format to make great looking (and small sized) vid caps -- and it's free!!!!
