I'm actually wondering the same thing but on the lower end of the scale, what is the best TV-out card for watching DVD's and general clarity in windows?..
me 2 im looking for somthing that will put out good sound to my 4.1 speakers and has good video capture as well as being able to do digital cable if thats possible
the matrox g550 is pretty awesome for watching dvds. really amazing dvd output and you can retain your monitor while doing so. CPU usage is a bit high when doing this, so you should have a fast rig.
My visiontek Gf2 ti using tv-tool does a pretty good job too. A little dark, but smooth and fairly good quality. You can only do tv or monitor out at one time, and the switch is a little disruptive.
^. I want to know this 2. With the reviews it says the Geforce3 is same as radeon 8500 in 2d quality? The main reason i got my Radeon is that I expected superior 2d quality from ATi. But if its the same, than im not getting the Radeon anymore. But what about, DVD playback to TV. That is my next biggest concern
if you ask me, i'd HAVE to say that the G force 3 Ti 500 is the best. i mean, its the best for everything! Gaming, movies, etc. . .
btw, i just ordered one. i am pumped!
good luck!
I suspect you're asking about TV cards so you can watch TV and record video and such. If not ignore me. I have a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR and couldn't be happier. I got it because it had hardware mpeg2 compression in hardware and had Tivo functionality. Also hauppauge regualrly updates there drivers so I knew I would be safe when I made the switch to XP. It is a little expensive but they do offer lesser models. It all depends on waht you want and how much you want to spend.
