What's the best thing you've done for a girl?

Told her I liked her day before her last day at work (I knew how things were going to end thus that approach), then pretty much left her alone after that.

She enjoys eating food, so I stuffed her up real good taking her out for lunches and meals all the time during her duration at work. Did most of the work while she slacked off, heh. Yeah, that's about the only things I could do for her that I know would make her happy.

Oh yeah, and I got her a Forever21 GC that day too. The look on her face when she saw that was very memorable and wonderful.

These days I'm feeling pretty miserable on and off. Off to work, to the place where we both used to work. Now I'm just holding on to memories of what used to be and reminds me of her every day I go to work there. Pretty pathetic, I know.

loved her without knowing any bounds and limits... but she broke my heart anyway.

on her bday, she noticed a cute teddy bear in a shop which was about 8 foot tall. She said it was cute and all, but it cost $250, so she passed.

The next day, I arrived at her home with a present for her.... guess what? Yes, the big huge teddy bear.

Thinking about all this just makes me more depressed... I need to start drinking. 🙁

Where would u keep an 8 foot teddy!?

That's really lame. Seriously.

I took a small bottle and placed 365 pieces of paper inside it with with one liners related to our conversations and relationship. You know, all the little things. And I asked her to read just one each day till the following Christmas.
awesome

Let her make her own mistakes and live her life without my involvement. She made her choice, now she must live it. She picked the wrong guy to be "just friends" with.

Her choice for life turned out to be a drug addict and cheat. She's too entrenched in appearances to let go of the abuse. I'm too healthy to get involved anymore.

Cliffs.
1. Told her "the truth"
2. Did what I said I would do.
3. Didn't (and won't ) back down.

time will heal brother.

I'm going to go with "got married" too... I could put the same response in HotChic's "Worst thing a girl has ever done to you" thread. 😛

I kid!

Best thing I can think of is that I had an artist paint a portrait of her based on our favorite picture of her. It was a surprise. She loved it.

I already wrote this story on Anandtech but the fvcking search sucks.

When I was in the Navy I was last stationed at a desert base where folks didnt socialize too much and didnt really take care of each other.
We had a poorly funded Morale, Welfare and Recreation committee and they tried so hard ot make things a little better for us. One of the girls there was really great and I tried to get involved with her fun activities and various community projects whenever I could. Habitats for Humanity, adopt-a-highway and some others come to mind. We also had fun things like NASCAR trips and Sea World and some others. Always way below retail price. Out of a base with 500 sailors, 40 marines and 4000 civilians, we usually got less than a dozen volunteers for any of them.
One time she got sign-ups for 50 people to go to NASCAR. She went out and bought 50 tickets and when the time came she only had 8 people go. The other 42 tickets came out of their funds.

Anyhow, Courney was a nice gal and not well supported by her military and civilian community, so not too many people knew or even cared when her mom died. Her parents were driving along a southern california highway, (this particular stretch being one of the most dangerous in the world) and they had to swerve to avoid a head-on. I dont even remember the details but her mom died on the way to the hospital and her dad was in "Expectant" condition for a while. He managed to last into Critical condition and then was finally released after a month and a half.
Those were undoubtedly the worst few weeks of her life. I knew she would have a lot to take care of and deal with, I also knew she wouldnt get much help either.
One night after the MWR office was closed up I slipped an envelope under her door with about 320 bucks. That along with a note stating she should use it for any expenses incurred in the near future.

Not too long after her dad came home I heard one of her friends saying that she had somehow managed to get her clunky old car into and out of the shop quickly and was able to make the 100-mile trip to the hospital on a bi-weekly basis.

So I guess thats the best thing I've ever done for a girl.

She probably told the guy she was banging behind his back, "man, look at my psycho boy friend. He put all these post-it notes all over my room. God, I wish he would just go away. He's so freakin' annoying."

Why is it that when I spend half an hour making a thourough post with an interesting story the thread dies like a cat on the highway?
