For example, picking up weight lifting, dressing differently, new hairstyle, etc.

Me, I'd say taking better care of my face. I used to have really bad acne a few years ago but now that I take more care of it, it's not very bad anymore and has given me more confidence.

So what about you all?

I lost 45 pounds and I thought I was looking a lot better. I've gained about 25 of it back. I need to stop eating junk again.

got rid of my glasses, grew my hair out a little longer, changed my clothing to a little nicer stuff than just t-shirts.

nothing goes further than self confidence, though.

Started wearing shirts that fit and stopped wearing jean shorts (for the most part). Also I actually get my hair cut regularly now.

Stopped wearing my glasses so much, cut my hair short, and I started wearing some nice clothes instead of the rattly old t-shirts I always wore.

This was one of the first steps I took after realizing how badly I needed to change and improve myself.

Old: When I changed my hair (sophomore year in HS) to its present state (first time I'd changed it since birth).

2 years ago: When I decided to all but cut soda, candy, ice cream, and cookies out of my diet. I'll still eat some every now and again, but I don't get cravings anymore and feel all the awesommer (should be a word).

Last year: When I found that awesome designer Cashmere Navy Blazer for half off at Tyson's.

Last few months: When I started doing push-ups every other day, formerly had next to no tricep strength.

This week: When I finally get access to a gym again and can start rowing in earnest.

Lifting weights, I guess. I enjoy the actual lifting, I enjoy the mellow feeling I have for the rest of the day too. Most of all I enjoy the fact it (sometimes) allows my mind to finally shut down and actually let me sleep. The change in appearance doesn't matter to me at all.
