For a soon-to-graduate college kid with no real jobs on sight?

I just got hired as a waitor at Macaroni Grill. The tip should be pretty nice but I'm wondering what I could be missing...

For an example, my friend trades stock and makes a nice living out of it. It was all self-taught.

I wanted to be a bartender and make lots of cash working at a trendy bar in Boston but everyone discouraged me because that only works for girls...

Well?

I delivered pizza after college until I landed a steady real job. I was pretty darn good. :)

No wonder you can't find a real job.

waiting tables will bring in some very nice money, so you can take your time looking for a regular full timer. If you work 3-5 shifts a week you can potentially bring home over 20k/year in cash alone. Most tax-free *cough*

Either sex bartender makes good money in a busy spot. It's safe to say most bartenders bring home more money than most waiters. If you're busy, you can serve a lot more individual bar patrons than individual tables.

EDIT: Or pizza deliveries. ;) 30-50 deliveries per night nets me roughly $120-240 cash each shift. ($0.75 per delivery + tips.) I'd rather do some bartending, but I've never done that and I don't know how to mix drinks. At the right bar, I think it would be better money, without the car related expenses.
