Ive tried GNC brand as well as Optimum Nutrition. Both advertise odorless and tasteless but I get this nasty gritty taste from those. I almost cant take it by itself.

Which brand creatine doesnt have a bad taste?

All brands of powdered creatine are gritty to one extent or another. Your best bet is to mix it in with other drinks instead of plain water. I put it in with my protein shakes.

My fruit punch flavored creatine is also nasty, but because of the flavoring I can't mix with other drinks (it just tastes worse). I will never get flavored creatine again.

Mix it with a small serving of all-natural juice for best results. The fructose in the juice helps convey the creatine to your muscles.

AST's Creatine HSC (grape or lemon) tastes very good, but is much more expensive than buying the plain creatine monohydrate.

I just mix mine in with protein powder and dextrose.

i've tried a few and seen the results you saw as well, and they didn't actually help me with any gains.

what i use now is celltech. it's pretty expensive and is not just creatine by itself. it's creatine mixed with dextrose and some other stuff. it actually tastes very good, almost like koolaid or something. i use the grape flavor.

This is what i'm taking.

I'm on my 3rd container since last August or so, and I was off of it for about a month after I ran out of my first tub.

I've gained about 30lbs since I started taking it, and I had tried some other creatines before and it tasted weird to me and I didn't see results.

This is the first type of creatine I've taken where I've seen actual results. It could have to do w/the other crap mixed into it as well as the creatine, but whatever it is, it works for me.

This stuff also tastes pretty damn good. I don't have any problems downing the cup that I take daily at all, and on the days I workout when I take it, it is actually very refreshing since I take it with ice cold water when I get home from the gym.

Ok, followup question: aren't there some drinks that you shouldn't mix creatine with? Like orange juice and other acidic drinks? I thought acidity cut the effectiveness out of creatine.

while on this subject, since this is the first time i've been using creatine consistently, is it bad to just constantly use it for months at a time, or is cycling it better for you?

not like effects wise, but just in general is it okay for your body to be taking it daily for a long time?

Don't cycle it. You can take if for years without ill effects. Just make sure you keep up your water intake!

that's what I had always heard and actually read but that was a while ago. i know it's something that you naturally get anyways but this just increases the intake.

also i don't drink much water straight up, but I do drink a lot of liquids in general. i've been drinking a diet soda or 2 a day, as well as a cup of water, and 3 protein shakes made with milk. i'll also drink milk/juice along with that.

oh and while lifting i drink a lot of water too.

is that good enough or should i be drinking straight up water by itself? i actually planned on stopping soda completey (other than when I go out to a bar and get mixed drinks) in a week or 2 since it makes me feel bloated a lot, but I was just curious about that as well. i've never felt weird or anything while taking the creatine I take.

one last thing since this is the first i've really stuck to creatine for some time - should you still take it when leaning up?

Sure, since creatine has no caloric value, you can still load it. Natural juice is best, actually, but the added sugar will kill your diet. The sugar helps transport the creatine into your muscle. Drinking pure water is the next best thing, keeping your muscles over-hydrated.

AST Creatine Monohydrate, Micronized.

thanks for the link Safeway. I think im gonna get this. Prices are cheaper than where I usually get mine from too (fitrx.com) I was gonna get the Celltech thing, but it's just too expensive.

Ive never taken creatine with fruit juice, but im gonna give it a try this time since you guys are saying it helps in the absorption better. Is loading phase a must for creatine? And I thought you should only take about 5g a day. AST recommends two servings of 5g a day for their maintenance phase.

I took two tablespoons a day, mixed with a single serving of juice. I went to CostCo and bought a 48 pack of individual juices. I keep about two weeks worth in my gym locker, as well as a bottle of this creatine. So as soon as I am done working out, I take the creatine.

And yes, I did load. Make sure you drink a ton of water while loading! Yes, you will pee a lot, but it helps saturate your muscles!
