There's so many. If I win the lottery, I'll go on a world trip in search of the best beer.

I have no particular favorite. I enjoy anything from High Life to Arrogant Bastard.

I think I say the same thing in every beer-related thread, but...

To me, the Belgian ales are the best, by far. By that I don't necessarily mean from Belgium, but the styles. Any of the Trappist ales from Belgium are fantastic, and there are many other brewers that brew in the various Abbey Ale styles. Some of my favorites:

- Allagash. Everything they make is great, and they're an American brewery.
- Ommegang. Everything they make is great as well, and they are also an American brewery.
- Victory Golden Monkey. Same as above.
- Rochefort. Probably my favorite Belgian Trappist. The Rochefort 10 is so rich and complex, it might as well be wine.
- Westmalle. Another fantastic Trappist. This one is typically a little more citrusy than the Rochefort, but great body and wonderfully complex.
- Westvleteren. You won't likely find this anywhere unless you're extremely lucky (unless you go to Belgium), but it's out of this world.
- St Bernardus. A Belgian brewer that makes a lot of different ales. The Abt 12 is probably my favorite, but they have a lot of different labels/styles they produce as well. Watou is another great one.
- Konigshoven. Hard to find much of the time, but they make great dubels, tripels, etc.

There are so many more. Explore the various Belgian styles and the various brewers and you'll be busy for years.

However, I would say some of my personal fav bottled beers would be stone ipa and arrogant bastard, great lakes edmund fitzgerald and nosferatu, bell's - two hearted amber, delerium tremens/nocturnum and then several rouge beers.

tap stuff: guinness! boddington, murphy, bass

Great Lakes makes some really good beers. Their Holy Moses, a Belgian White, is probably the most approachable in my opinion. Their Grand Cru is great if you can get it (not sure they make it anymore). I used to go to their brewery once a week or so when I was in Cleveland.

I like the Sam Adams White for one you can get basically anywhere decent (99 has it on tap). There's a local brewpub's Boch that I could drink by the gallon, tho.

there is NO comparison.

Woohoo, more love for Stone! I just picked up a growler of OG last month. Have you tried their other seasonal brews? Stone is definitely one of my favorite things about living in San Diego.
Oh, and I'd like to throw in my vote for some other Stone brews: Imperial Russian Stout, Double Bastard Ale and the '06 release of the '04 Vertical Epic. Those along with OG are just about the best beers I've ever had.

No, some people will just be wrong because they have poor taste.

That's a damn tasty beer. But the Chimay Blue is honestly one of my favorites, it just seems to be everything I like in a beer perfectly balanced.

Impossible to say because I don't know about you, but I want a different beer for different times.

And while Kingfisher is real good, it's pretty much like a Yuengling that's twice as expensive.

Yup...I've had all manner of different kinds of beer and always go back to Shiner...

Shiner is definitely a top choice of mine. That, and almost anything from Sam Adams, save for the fruity stuff.. wtf were they thinking with cranberry lambic??

But Cherry Wheat?!?!?!

Disregarding what I said in my last post, that might actually take my vote as best tasting beer.
