What's the best software (IYO) for backing up HDD's?

Yup. Use high compression. There was a nice tread floating around about spanning to multiple CD's. I can't find it though

My choice is Drive Image, even though I haven't tried Norton Ghost. As for spanning CDs, I just break them up into pieces. In the advanced option "Split Image File Into Multiple Files", I specify the file size to be either 671,100,000 bytes for a 650MB disk, or 723,500,000 bytes for a 700MB disk. It's really simple. I do it this way so if I burn it to CDs, I can do it at 24x, and not at 4x which Drive Image burns them at.
