note though that the epox board only has 2 channel ide, which kinda sucks. i bought one for my friend and had to add a maxtor promise ata/100 pci card to add on more ide slots. it is cheaper for a reason.

I am lookin for a board with ATA100 2DDR sense I will only be using 1 4x agp pro (sideband) lots of PCI, and RAID. I dont need onboard sound or anything either just a kick ass board thats good for overclocking

I guess I would recommend a DDR board that has the AMD761 Chipset. However I don't think you will find that cheap. Not all of the DDR boards include the 4x AGP PRO.

I have the K7 MASTER from MSI and it includes the 4x AGP PRO, but costs about $160 or more. Stable board that Anandtech recommend for their High End systems.

ASUS and Gigaybte boards are probably too expensive, but rate pretty good. Don't think they have the AGP PRO.

The Epox 8K7A is a good, stable board with a lot of options for overclockers, but it only has an AGP 4X slot, not an AGP Pro.

Good luck!

The FIC AD11 is the fastest board out of all of them AMD 761. Every review site says it is very stable along with 4 user opinions from forums that I have gathered. FIC just might have put out the cheapest, fastest, and most stable board on the amd 761 chipset. I would buy it in a heart beat if the letters FIC wasnt on it....I am having alot of trouble deciding on if i want to give FIC another chance...and all these review sites are showing that it has the highest performance along with anandtech saying it passed 24 hours of stress test.

Also the price is 109 dollars....I think I will definately end up trusting all these review sites and the 4 user comments and give it a try.

"you get what you pay for" doesnt relate to many things in the computer industry. You pay for names now

the only thing i most dislike about the FIC AD11 is the fact that there are practically no FSB adjustments, just 100 and 133

1 vote for the Epox board.......

I gave Epox another try after being dissatisfied with MSI

I had a wicked little problem with a USB mouse....
but another forumer here referred me to a fix
from Bill G's website....that should be
mandatory for all AMD chipset based boards
that use the Via 686b

After that was fixed, I've been up and running and
I can't kill the thing......ran some torturous
benchies and this thing really is a pleasure to
use.....fast, stable, trouble free......at least
for the last 30 minutes or so..........jk

Get the ram from crucial/webpromo of course.....56 bucks
for 256 meg of ddr is a STEAAAAAAAAL

free ship too i think

also:

Kudos to the Globalwin CAK38 MONSTER OF A COPPER HEATSINK

I'm not an overclocker yet, but I like a nice cool cpu that's
happy workin for me......Last I checked after a torturous
game of quake team arena, my cpu temp was 93 degrees f and dropping

I own the epox 8k7a and have no problems... Even purchased a promise fasttrack 100 tx2 and running raid no problems.. In my opinion if you are going to go raid, promise is the best, screw this highpoint and ami controllers.

But thats just my opinion
