Hey guys,

I'm gonna be broke when I get the xbox360, so I am only going to get one game. I was thinking a racing game would be a good first game, but which one is the best? I think there are five:

Need for Speed Most Wanted
Project Gotham Racing 3
Full Auto
Ridge Racer 6
Test Drive Unlimited.

Of course it's got to be fun, have great graphics, and let you put your own playlists on.

That is, unless there is another game that just blows all of these away. If not, which one of these is the best?

Personally, I'd go with NFS, but Project Gotham Racing is a safe bet too. The last Test Drive game I played (TD6 for Dreamcast) was pretty horrid.

Okay, I really haven't seen very many strong opinions. These games are $60 so I don't want to get the wrong one or get two.

I've added a poll so maybe we can get a few more opionions...

i personally had more fun from nfs underground 2 than pgr2 so i don't know if that'll be the case for the 360. but pgr does plow nfs away in graphics. u could RENT both from blockbuster and decide for yourself. the gaming pass costs like $15 doesn't it? that way u can test the others too

The PGR series is (imho) the perfect blend of sim and arcade. The NFS series (since PU, at least) is too arcadey for me.

yeah i loved that game,...and the playstation version had a definate charm to it that made it irresistable

oh and for anyone that wants to check out what need for speed:most wanted is all about you can dl the demo HERE its 544mb,..and on this page just pick your location and DL,....you can try it online which is very addicting, you can play some of the pursuit challenges, and of course just play a quick race,...just make sure you bind a good button for the N2O(nitrous oxide boost,...if you play online you bet your ASS you will need it!),..you do have to kinda register to play online,..but you can make all the info fake and still play,..theres no verification at all!,..so you can just throw n whatever (and theres some assh0le that stole my name!! :|),..but yeah if your like me,..once you play online a few times your hooked!,...i have a very hard time stopping and theres only 2 levels to play online!(but they are very nice levels),if you have a 7800 series card(i havnt tried it on the girlfriends x1800xl so i cant speak for that) you shoudl have no problem cranking the settings maximum at 1280x1024 with 1 level of AA(the AA is a slider bar)or 1600x1200 with no AA and have it butter smooth through the most brutal of wrecks

I'm voting based on NFS:U2 and PGR2. I have to disagree with Wingznut about the blend of simulation and arcade in PGR being good. I think it's an arcade racer that's trying to be a simulation or visa versa. The line between which it is more of isn't clear enough. The fastest line through a turn is not skidding sideways... yet you're rewarded for doing that with kudos, but penalized for doing that when having to beat top times. It doesn't make sense.

NFS on the otherhand is clearly an arcade racer with beautiful graphics, and it does that much better than PGR does the hybrid thing IMHO.

OT

Tried NFS Most Wanted for PC, not that impressed.
Then again, after playing Grand Tourismo series, everything else feel so childish/fake.
