I liked the LeMans game and of course F355 Challenge. Two really great simulations. I regret selling my Dreamcast, since no other system(other than PC) has produced games of that sim quality since! 🙁
its amazing, easy enough that most levels can be beat with little playing time but tough enough that the secrets cant be got without spending hours on it...

Did you mis-read "XBox" or are ya thinking of Metropolis Street Racer? 🙂 Simple mistake.
Ya, MSR was a great game for the Dreamcast as well, and as you know, the "original" Project Gotham.
Another game you should check out is Tokyo Extreme Racer 1 & 2. Great street racing games, lots of customizability too.
Tokyo Extreme 1 + 2 are good, Demolition Exit No Return was good, the Sega Rally and GT are not bad.
Revolt would be pretty good for a kid between 7 and 10, as well as Speed Devils.
The DC had alot of good racing sims on it. I just hope that the company that I read about who is supposed to be creating games for the classic consoles
will make some new DC games.
