Whats the best poison Ivy treatment (other than amputation)

Man, I am in misery both arms covered with poison ivy (ARGH!)

I could use your help, have been using the old standby of calimine lotion but there has got to be sumthin better

P-p-p-lease help me out this sucks beyond words 🙁

Benadryl (diphenhydramine) 25 mg (take according to instructions on the bottle)

Hydrocortisone ointment (the highest % available in your state) on the rash.

If it's really bad, see your Dr & they'll give you a dose of IV/IM steroids.

and NO its not contagious AT ALL unlike what a lot of ppl think. it has to come FROM the PLANT itself, the juices dont spread it to other ppl. it just spreads on your body because that is where it all landed, and you did not know.

to take car of some of the itching jump into the shower, and take a HOT shower, kep increasing the temperature until u literally barely can stand it and then get out. it wont itch for about an hour.

Well all I tried the tecnu stuff, and holy cr@p dose it work 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
My arms are looking 1000% better and no more itching. Its 6$ for 4oz and is like a soap that cleans off the poison ivy oil.

The hot shower dealy worked great too, thanks for the heads up!

I cant explain how but i got it on my balls once, it was horrible. The first and last time i got poison ivy, I touched it working with my father in law around the yard and i forgot to wash my hands right after and i guess i scratched the nether region...😱:Q
 
scub affected area with steel-wool soaked with a saltwater solution,
then liberally apply jalapeno juice
then briskly rub down with nettles
 
Well I got it again 🙁

However I was prepared and had a 32oz bottle of tecnu at hand. I must say this stuff rocks! Washed myself up with it and the rash is allready going away (in one day)

(Btw Im helping to run a tree trimming/removal company for a friend of mine and thats how Ive gotten multiple exposures)

If you happen to be misfortunate enough to encounter the dreaded plant, tecnu is the way to go
