Actually, it is free. It's no longer made, therefore it's abandonware and free for download. There's also a patch that updates all the low poly models with high poly ones. Although it apparently doesn't work with the free version.

You seem to be confused. Just because a game is no longer in production doesn't mean it's legal to download.

The Secret of Monkey Island. That game rocked. Thank goodness for SCUMMVM.
