Not sure about Vista...but I second FileZilla for Xp. If it is compatible with Vista, my vote is for that one clearly!

filezilla for windows (i hear they have a osx version too), but cyberduck for osx.

FlashFXP or FTP Voyager, personally I prefer Voyager.
