What's the best option for me......

Hey there. I've got a somewhat dated computer now which currently has an MSI 845 Ultra-ARU mainboard in it which uses the old Intel 845 chipset. I am currently running a GeForce4 Ti-4600 videocard which is starting to get really up there in terms of age and I'd like to replace it with a new video card. The most that I'm willing to part with is about $250 dollars since I really don't think this thing will run a top of the line card, and I never like buying top of the line video cards. (Last one I bought was my Ti-4600 a few years ago and I think I've finally gotten my money's worth with it. Now I'd just like to buy a mid-range card). Those GeForce 6600GT cards look really tempting, but I'm not sure if my 4x AGP motherboard can run them. What do you guys think I should do? (And while upgrading the motherboard would be a nice option, I really don't plan on doing that for another couple years when I build a new system. So I'm just looking for a card that will last me a few years).

Thanks.

4X is fine since videocards don't even exploit 1x bandwidth yet.

You could always try to get PNY 6800 at COMPUSA for $199 after mail in rebate on black friday

6600GT is a good deal once it dips below $200, but for now i'd rather get 6800 and try to unlock the extra pipelines in it for $250 at Outpost.com

Sounds good. Thanks. I just wanted to make sure that the 8x AGP card would work on my motherboard. (I don't want to spend all the money on a card just to find out that the 8x AGP doesn't fit/work with my 4x AGP slot).
