I want something fun and that takes awhile to complete, like the good old days of Legend of Zelda or Super Metroid, even something like Flashback or X-Men on Sega Genesis would rock or even something along the lines of Odd World on Xbox would be good also.

Anything like that out on the NDS now that I'm just not aware of?

I don't like the games like Metriod Prime or Starfox where it's complicated hand cramping controls done by the touch screen in an effort to replace a physical analog stick either.

I was looking at Contact for NDS and that looked alright but not to sure.

I also want something that I can just pick up and play then save and turn off whenever I want, not some retarded save system like Metriod Prime has.

Any suggestions that fit what I'm looking for?

Current games I have are:
New Super Mario Bros (loved it)
Mario Kart (Is just OK IMO)
Metriod Prime (hate the controls and save system)
Brain Age (Can't get into it)
Castlevania DOS (loved it)

Cliffs:

What game would you recommend for the Nintendo DS?

I'll have to look into it.

Is it a RPG or action/adventure?

EDIT:

Looks like a turn based strategy type game.

Not my kind of game usually but maybe I'll give it a try anyways.

I know, looking forward to it.

Yoshi Island looks decent to and of course I'm waiting for Zelda to come out as well.

I'm not a huge fan of turn based games either but I really liked Advance Wars: Dual Strike. I picked up a used copy from ATFS/FT.

Brain Age (20, wo0t) but you don't like it for some reason.

I want to get Animal Crossing, but it's bloody expensive locally (CDN$50) and I was hoping to get a copy of Phoenix Wright, but I can't find it. Blah!

I'm in the same boat as you, I want a good game I can play for awhile. I bought Mario Hoops 3-on-3, but it's too damn easy.

Advance Wars Dual Strike is great, but I got stuck on the Pincer Strike level and stopped playing. Too damn hard.

I'm going to give Dragon Quest: RocketSlime a try, it looks like a fun game.

 That actually looks kind of fun.

Maybe I'll pick it up.

If you don't mind import games, check out Ouendan (link). The menus are all in Japanese, of course, but the game is one of the most addictive that I've played lately. It's sort of like DDR for the DS.

FF III
Zelda
Megaman ZX
Castlevania POR
Yoshi's Island II

I believe Megaman is out, but the rest you're going to have to wait for a bit. In the meantime, I recommend Advance Wars like everyone else.

You should play Oddworld on the original Playstation. Some of the best side scrolling puzzlers ever.

I wish they had something like this for the DS.
