the title is what i'm wondering. i was just gonna get a cheap mobo like epox or abit...but i decided to get the best possible one so please post. thanks 🙂

Soltek SL75DRV4. That's the one I'd pick if wasn't getting a Northwood setup instead for my next upgrade.

The Epox 8KHA+ is an excellent board & it`s rock stable(yes I`m using one at the moment),if you don`t need all the extra features like on some other boards like RAID etc then the Epox is an excellent choice and very easy to setup(only one jumper 100/133mhz FSB) to worry about.

🙂

There is ome problem with that board. It's not Alpha PAL8045 compatible.

I just got my SL75DRV4.. hope to put it together tonight, I think it is going to rock.. and it was fairly inexpensive. Don't have to spend alot, to get alot.

<< my vote is for the epox 8kha+ stable and fast, definately not to misjudged as a budget board. >>

I had an EPoX 8KHA+ before I bought my Soltek SL75-DRV4. It was a great board, but I was able to get a much higher overclock with the Soltek. I don't recommend the EPoX for non-overclockers either, as it has middling benchmarks.

I have the Soltek SL-75DRV4 as well, and it's a very sweet board. It's purple too, need I say more! 😀
Very good for overclocking and it has Ata133 native.

From the varied responses I take it's pretty hard to go wrong when choosing a recent athlon mobo. Maybe start asking yourself the question of how many expansion slots do you want for PCI or memory. Do u want an o/cing mobo or one with integrated components?

The last thing I'd consider is price since mobos have pretty much the same range.
