I need a mobo and memory that can take my 2.4C as high as it can go with air cooling. I would like to stay with stock cooling, if possible. What kind of RAM Should I get? I am leaning towards Corsair XMS, but I don't know how fast I should get. Thanks for the info!

Abit IC7 $125 @ newegg. It uses the Intel 875 chipset which means it always has PAT enabled no matter what memory timings/ratios you are using.:)

If you need to save some more cash, you can drop down to an Abit IS7 for under $100. BTW the IC7 does not have onboard LAN.

If your willing to spend some more, the DFI Lanparty Pro 875B is a nice board. Also might want to look at the ASUS P4c800-E or P4P800. As for RAM.. You plan on running 5:4 or 1:1?

I don't know what memory timings to use. What do you recommend? Do you do 5:4 when you want to oc more, so that your memory is not overstressed? Thanks for the info!

That depends on the RAM you have/plan to get. If you have some nice PC4000 then 1:1 is good, if your looking more at PC3200-3500 then 5:4. Depending on how far you can get with that 2.4, PC3500 and 5:4 might be nice.

I think I will go with some nice PC4000. Althought that is so expensive right now, I may as well spend the extra money on a 3.2ghz CPU!

If your gonna get PC4000, get a 2.4, 2.6, or 2.8. The 2.8 with some luck youll be able to hit 250 FSB, and run the ram 1:1.

Better yet the AI7 is the updated IS7 and is about 10 dollars cheaper then the IC7...what you get is a much more stable voltage rails across the board as well has more vdimm adjustments to keep that 1:1 and 5:4 ratios lasting after 250+fsb....This is the answer to the IS7 as the Max3 is to the IC7....

Looks very promising and quite a few ATers just got this board look for some reviews...
