what's the best IPA that they carry at most bars

none?
Even if you are speaking in terms of bottles, I actually haven't seen an IPA at most of the bars I've been to, if any.

Depends on your tastes in IPA's, but most good bars will carry some Stone products. Arrogant Bastard is probably the most popular (not an IPA), but I've seen Stone IPA a lot too.

sierra nevada is good and available pretty much everywhere afaik

the std. green label sierra nevada is not an IPA, rather a traditional pale ale. I think they have an IPA, but it sucks and it's much harder to find.

many pub style food/ beer bars aren't really beer/microbrew focused, but they usually offer/support the local/regional breweres. So the best at any given bar of that style will probably be something regional. Ask the bartender. When you get into the types of places that cater to beer lovers, and have 20+ on tap, most will at least have the dogfish head 60 Min. IPA, which is pretty decent. Stone, Acme, and Breckenridge are also pretty widely distributed, but still not that common.

"Most" bars is pretty vague.. I'd say probably Sierra Nevada as well. Maybe Dogfish Head (one of the varieties), or maybe Stone's. Sometimes some of the Bell's brews are carried.

At most bars? What does most bars mean? Bars that I go to are small and tiny and carry a very small selection of beers and only the popular stuff.

You can get Keith's at pretty much every bar in Ontario. Although, it's apparently not a connoisseurs IPA, more of an IPA for the masses. I don't drink it.

Every bar/pub/tavern I visit that isn't 1.) A slum for drifters and alcoholics and 2.) Some sort of chain like Chili's carries PAs and IPAs as well as other non-mainstream beers.

You guys need to find a new place to hangout if the only thing your current place has is Miller Light, Bud, Heineken, etc.

In my opinion, this is the best American Style (Double) IPA.

I have some in the fridge, think I might grab one.

And I highly doubt you could even get that at most bars. I've never heard or seen it before and I go to lots of bars.

You can't but if you are an IPA drinker, or just a "beer" drinker in general, you really have to go out and try the local stuff.

If you want something nationwide, Dogfish Head is your beer. It is truly a great beer and I highly recommend having it. But don't stop there. Branch out dude.

MOST bars don't even know what an IPA is let alone stock any.

I guess that depends on where you live and how crappy of a bar you're at. Around here most restaurants and bars have at least 2-3 IPAs on tap, and they're usually local.

can't believe so many of you have such limited selections. At least around here we've got some IPAs hell even YardHouse carries an IPA or two around here. I'd like to find 1 bar that carries Rolling Rock though. I can't believe not bar I've been to carries it.

Yea Yardhouse carries a lot but don't feel like spending that damn much for a beer.
