What's the best HSF for a 2500+ Barton?

I'm using the OEM one now. Is Alpha still cream of the crop or have they been dethrowned?

I use a an Alpha, check my rig.

Works awfully good. It's big, it's bad, it's ugly, and I recommend it highly.

I honestly don't care how big or ugly it is. I want it to cool it so I can overclock the crap out of it. However I do not want to go with water cooling.

Close to watercooling.

Yep, this will get the job done if you want to OC hard. The SLK-900 would pretty much equal in most respects. I'd probably go with a 92mm fan though to avoid adapters. Keep in mind, a fast fan means a LOUD fan. Overclockers.com has a nice roundup. Take note of the fan used for each HS.

I'm also looking for a good cooling solution for a 2500+ or 2600+, but this'll be going into an Antec Aria...will any of the mainstream coolers create a space issue in such a small case? Also, what's the best option for cooling AND quietness? I'm probably going to lightly OC it, but nothing major, so it doesn't have to be the BEST cooler.

SP-97 the best currently. A 92mm Tornado will provide the best air cooling possible, but also will affect your hearing. Your best bet is a 92mm Panaflo fan and SP-97 ;)

I'm using a Vantec Aeroflow with Arctic Silver 5 compound (keeps me around 40 idle and 44 full load
while overclocked). I can't say it's the best out there, but it's doing well with me and noise is not an issue...neither is the size.

Let us know what you decide and how you make out.

I will have to agree with the others about the Thermalright dominance. (I have 3 different models myself)
Here is a cheaper model, currently $15.99 @ SVC: ALX-800

I put one of those on my son's 2500+ using AS-5 and a TT SmartFan II.
His 100% load temps are 39C, but that is definately not quiet. @ 7volts they went up to about 43-44C.

<edit> oops forgot to mention..... those numbers were taken running 1.775v core 11x200 (3200+)

Any of the Panaflos will give good "quiet" results.
