Using my Plextor 708 8x dvd burner, i can only achieve like 3,000 KB/s DVD ripping speeds..

anyone have suggestions as to what is fastest? (Must be made w/ a black bezel, to match my case of course, ;) )

thanks for any advice.

hmm.. what software are you using? I'm using DVDdecryptor and this thing will typically rip a single layer dvd in 10-15 minutes on my Pioneer DVDROM which is just your run of the mill 16x.

I'm using my plextor 708, which is an 8x dvd writter, which i guess are known to be a good bit slower than regular
dvd-roms.

I agree my 16x liteon was faster then my 16x pioneer drive.....Cheaper too!!!

I have seen speeds of 11-12x in single layer DVDs and less in dual layer DVDs....Howevr I never had my pioneer get to double digits in any DVD I used....
