Drop out of school. Save yourself/parents/whoever the money because at this rate you will fail out anyway.

Thanks for all the heart felt advise. I wish you all a smooth journey in life, with no hiccups whatsoever, and you'll always have some one backing you up if you ever trip. That is if you would ever, trip.

You can still catch up. I know how much it is, just work really hard every day and try to get through atleast 2 or 3 units so you can pass.

If I may speak frankly....

I almost posted to one of your other threads yesterday suggesting you consider dropping out for a while, but I deleted it without posting. From reading your posts here, it seems that you aren't able to discipline yourself to do what it takes to keep up. I'm not blasting you, I recognize it because the same thing happened to me. There was a time that I had to drop out for a semester until I could get it together enough to stay focused.

Look, failing a class isn't the end of the world. If you take it again, they generally only use the passing grade in your GPA and the "F" doesn't count (although it stays on your transcript). Perhaps it will motivate you to work harder and manage your time better. For me, as long as I could come up with excuses (a nice word for lies) I didn't change. And I was really, really good at lying.

I once told a professor that the reason I hadn't been to class in 5 weeks was that my father had broken his arm and since he was self-employed in the heating/air conditioning business, if he didn't work we didn't eat. So I told him I went home and did the work while my father told me what to do so he still had income. He gave me an incomplete in a flash. Yes, it was taking a big chance because he could have easily verified that I was lying out of my ass. Since he didn't, I just congratulated myself on outsmarting the system once again and didn't change a thing about my behavior.

For me, it took sitting out for a semester to come to the conclusion that I couldn't go through life on a bunch of BS, and when I went back I got nothing but A's until I graduated.

Maybe that's not you, maybe it is.

Nice story :D

Hey wouldn't you get an incomplete anyway if you didn't do the exams or just fail them? Or you would get a fail? And if so whats the difference between an *incomplete* and a *fail*?

Sound advice. I wish it only took a semester to get my head on straight and get back into school...I screwed around for 4-5 (not counting time I screwed around while enrolled) years and at 29 am just now working towards finishing my undergrad.

fail it. then retake it next semester. some schools will replace the F... some just average the two grades.

Incomplete - you didn't complete the work, but they are allowing you extra time. If you finish everything before the revised deadline, you get the grade you earned.
Fail - you didn't complete the work and they won't give you extra time.

Oh I see.

At my Uni they fail you if you don't do the work and if the work isn't up to par. They let you do an extra piece of work. If that is crap also then you can't take the exam and fail automatically for that Unit.

Thanks kranky...

I just went and ask for and incomplete, without lying. I just told the prof that I couldn't concentrate, and based on my works on the past, he understood and gave it to me without question. But thanks for the truth.

Aren't you like, 13? No offense, but I don't think your classes are as hard to catch up in yet.

Keep working hard and hope it all works out for you.

Good job for sucking it up and facing your problem. I still think you should take some time off and get your head back in the game.
