h/k (harman kardon) dvd22... i acutally opened mine last night... its very nice... its also on sale @ cc this week... around $175.

the one that plays divx too. i think its the phillips 642 thats a really good one.

bump i want to watch this also.

I have an old DVD player that can only play DVD's nothign else.

I need one that can play all DVD formats and CD's and mp3's and picture and video cd's etc.

and if its got one of those memory cards slots cool.

i got a cheap-o 50 dollar player at walmart. optimum dvd i think it's called. I'm happy with it. even plays vcds, mp3s, and has a viewer for jpg photos....

that plus my nero makes for a good time in the heezy....

Camelot Technology Round Table @ $3,995, Ayre D-1, Linn Unidisk, Lexicon RT10. These are all incredibly expensive but they're supposed to be the best of the best.

On the lower end, Denon and Pioneer Elite are nice.

any player that has good 3:2 pulldown ratio, can play tons of formats, has progressive scan and can upconvert to your hdtv.

If I was in the market, I would probably look at the lower end Denon's, the Panasonic S97 or the Samsung HD941

i got the phillips 642, its a good player. it plays most everything i throw at it, unless it was encoded in something weird. also converts pal to ntsc without a hitch, so it truely is region free.
