What I mean by that is the best dock for programs to go in so the comp looks kinda like osx, I have seen it several times on peoples screenshots, it was on the top of their screen. I downloaded one called object dock, but it sucks, I don't wnat to replace my taskbar, just want to clean up my desktop.

Yeah, but I have a pc, and don't really want an apple... so I will have to find an emulatior. Oh and the link doesn't work for the noob's post, and I don't want to pay for the service, the internet is about getting stuff for free.

Yeah but I don't like having the actual taskbar on the top of the screen, I just want the quick launch and to clear up the icons on my desktop.

Not sure what you want exactly but what I do is pull all the programs that I run often down into the tray by the Start button and it works great... Give it a try... Just make a shortcut to the desktop of the prog you want to run and then right click on the shortcut and pull it down to the tray near the Start button (you can put as many as you want).

No thats not what I mean. I want another taskbar pretty much, one that is at the top of the screen, while the original taskbar remains at the bottom. I don't want any icons on my desktop, just in the top toolbar/taskbar/whatever it is called.

I just did it, I have a toolbar at the top and a tool bar on the bottom in Win2k with no other Programs... Just right click on toolbar and click new tool bar, then click the folder that You want, then click ok, then click on the little bar on the new toolbar that runs verticly and drag it to the top, then arrange it... Cool!:)

You can disable the taskbar part of ObjectDock and use it just as you would like. However, I tried it a few months ago, and after a short while it would take up almost 100% of the CPU capacity, and have to be restarted. I gave up on it after that, but haven't tried the new version much to find out if it's any better.

The 3 most common/favorite dock proggies are: Y'z Dock, Object Dock, Moby Dock. My personal favorite is Y'z dock (version 6) but Moby is supposed to come out with a killer version in a few weeks (incorporating DX9). Check here for more info. on dock programs.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to add further boxes to y'z dock. Any ideas? (not a hijack, just curious)
