There's just so many boards out there, that I want to find out which one is the best for my money ... i don't want to pay much (ie don't need raid, nor onboard audio or lan)

Thx

If you overclock,

Most folks like the ASUS P4B533 boards. I have one and it has performed flawless, also have the ASUS P4S533 as well but I do not OC with this board

If I were to buy a mobo right now, I'd look at the ALBATRON PX845PEV PRO for $95 at Newegg

What's the general consensus of the new SiS 648/845PE boards? Are they just replacing their old 845e/g counterparts (ie everybody used to say 4g4a+/P4B533-V were the best boards, are they now replaced by like the P4PE? It seems so considering what this thread is saying...)

The 845PE is the way to go now. The 845PE has 4:5 and 3:4 mem ratios and doesn't have the integrated graphics core like the 845G did. The 845G boards were good, but did have some odd problems when overclocking that the 845D/E boards did not. It seems the integrated graphics core lowers the overclockability.

Once Granite Bay is here, no one will care about single channel DDR boards anyway.
