Whats the best CRT TV out there?

I have decided that Projection, Plasma and LCD are not for me. However I still want all the bells that these high end TV's usually come with.

So far I like the Toshiba 34HF83 the best. Does anyone have this model or a comparable manufacturer?s model?

Sony is a nice crt tv (I've got a 32" xbr), but, I HIGHLY reccomend getting an extended warranty on them, you'll need it with a sony. My set has convergence problems (yes, on a CRT for cryin out loud), and geometry suffers.

I'd rather go for a Toshiba Tau right now if I were to chose another CRT for my next TV.

Tau?

Whatever you do, don't get a Sony.

I bought their top of the line 36XBR400 2 years ago and it broke. Despite all the complaints about the failure rates of the TV and the fact that they replaced it with the 36XBR450 a month after it was introduced (I wonder why? known problems maybe?) they refused to help me out.

Their customer service is abysmal. Instead of trying to help me, they blamed me for the problem and insisted all the negative remarks I read online about the TV were BS.

I used to be an all Sony guy but getting jerked out of $2700 was the final straw. Lately I've had lots of my Sony products go bad on me but no more. I will never buy a Sony product again period. I would advise you to stay away. If you look up any of the TV or Sony threads here, you will see lots of guys saying their Sony's have died early too.

Here is what I replaced it with. The Panasonic 50LC13.

38", 16:9 flat screen, and weighs 210 pounds...

I like your Panasonic. Best buy has it for

$3134

I got it for $2400. Others got it for less that $2K when it came out a few months ago.

It was an unbelievable discount before the retailers started cracking down.

I actually got it for the PQ, the price was an added bonus. The PQ is amazing on it. It stood out from the rest of the other TVs when I saw it at CC, BB and Sears.

Edit: Here is a pic of the 36XBR400 in HDTV.

Here is the Panny.

The HDTV PQ is much much better than the CRT I had. These pics I took don't do it justice.

If you are referring to the Panny, I'm not sure since I don't have it hooked up to a game box. I do know that it can do 720p natively so the picture should be excellent.

One excellent feature on the TV is the number of inputs it has. It has by far the most inputs of any TV in its class.
