If you live in Northern or Central California, then yes, Verizon is the best. Cingular/AT&T blows for pretty much everyone I've talked to and I've had many friends switch over to Verizon and say how much better it is. Even in Southern California, Verizon gets a really good signal.

I for one can vouch that Verizon has spectacular coverage in So Cal. I'm in the Pasadena area, but I've gotten 4 or 5 bars in Diamond Bar, Malibu, Downtown LA, Newport Beach, Anaheim, San Diego, Santa Clarita, almost everywhere in So Cal. :)

Cell phones just suck anyways... i dont believe its the carrier, i believe its the equipment they install and or support. I would say, that if its something you could possibly deal with, stay with them. Just complain once in a while and get your bill decreased and move on. Its too much of a headache to switch and the other carriers arent any better. Ive used several different carriers including cingular, verizon, and now sprint. I like sprint because they are the best in my area. I still drop calls. But when i do, i make it a point to call and complain and they reverse the charges if im over my minutes. They all suck, you just have to decide on the severity of the suckness.

I'm using Virgin Mobile and I had 4 bars during my entire drive from the Detroit area to the Philadelphia area. Except through tunnels. ;)

T-mobile came in handy because they have international roaming. Got excellent 6 full bar coverage in Morocco and western Europe.

I, for instance, don't carry a purse (obviously. me=male) so my phone goes in my pocket. Hence, i need a small phone. I am also a techie and like having features such as blue tooth and a camera (impromtu shots). Verizon, in addition to its other problems, does not offer a quality option for me. I do not think that that is a "pathetic" reason. Could you please explain your thinking a little more?

Cell phones "should" not be some sort of super gadget, that does everything from playing mp3's to wiping your ass. It's sole purpose is communications. So if your communications are excellent why complain. Of course this is just my opinion.

And if you come over to the East Coast or even pop into the Midwest, Verizon has excellent coverage. The best by far (not including Sprint's roaming plan) compared with GSM carriers TMo & Cingular. TMobile just lost a lot cell towers back to Cingular with AT&T finally shutting down that agreement, so suddenly all my friends on TMo are switching in droves to VZW & Sprint.

Where did u hear about Tmo losing towers? They bought up all of cingulars and are leasing them out to them in CA/NV and Tmo's own NYC.
