Communications. I hear some of them end up in the NBA or NFL and make 6 figures right out of college. Sometimes, you don't even need to graduate.

mostly health or finance... one is a lot of hard work and the other is a lot of boring numbers. 😀 But demand means money.

Business, communication, finance.

You can take that anywhere. Engineering is like the people that mow your lawn, they are necessary, you don't pay them much...but you need them.

so who exactly is going to build everything around you?

that finance major will be able to help me find a lighter, stronger steel for structural applications, right? right...

engineering is solid money and solid employment. govt scale maxes out at ~130k/year right now for a GS15. that's not chump change.

don't mind him, i believe he hates engineers (from the other thread about the 10 most worthless degrees)

i don't like to brag but all the bias against engineering here bothers me. i'm 1 year out of school and making $70k+ as an EE, i'd say that's solid income.

Yeah spidey07 really seems to hate engineers for some reason. Just do a search on here for the word "engineer" and posts made by "spidey07". I think he was originally an engineer himself but was screwed or shafted somehow, which is what prompted his career change. I'm sure he can fill you in on the details. This is just what I can recall from reading many of his posts.

From there, he goes on to bash the entire engineering profession, as if everyone has or will share his exact same experiences, and also has the exact same professional values and aspirations in life as he does.
