Non-boosted H22 Accord = 14.76 1/4 @ 95.97mph http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3ZMmijnX4o
Stock 1990 Corvette (240hp/345tq) = 15.1 1/4 @ 93mph http://www.corvetteguys.com/19...hevrolet-corvette.html
Not trying to thread-crap, and I don't know Zanejohnson from a hole in the ground. He could be FOS for all I know, but I do know for a fact that C4 Vettes weren't all that fast (not a lot was back then), and the H22 Hondas easily run 14s in the 1/4 without boost. Makes it a pretty even race, though both are slow by todays standards.
You are comparing a modified accord to a stock vette, apples - oranges.
I realize that entirely. However, that was the situation described in the OP in the other thread. No Accord came with an H22. ZJ (assuming the story is true at all) has an H22 motor in an Accord (a fairly easy swap). Hence, it's not unreasonable at all to think that it would hang with an average stock C4 Vette. Hell, a new Camry V6 w/manual tranny would hand most C4s their ass.
Now moddability, the C4 can be STUPIDLY fast very easy. Those 5.7s are a dream to work with as far as getting more power.
In short :
Stock Accord < Stock C4 Vette
H22 Accord = or > Stock C4 Vette
H22 Accord < Modded C4 Vette
Better? 🙂
Not exactly. It depends on the year. "C4" is a very broad term. Yes some came with only 230hp, but others came with 300, 375, and even 405(ZR1). That is stock from the factory. A new Camry isn't going to touch those specific builds.
Not trying to bash you, just pointing out that more specifics should be used instead of the broad "C4 Stock" term.
