What's the best automobile gas you've used?

Seriously.

I've been using Texaco for as long as i remember and the car doesn't seem to have any problems. However i ran out of gas once and ended up having to put Chevron and the car seemed to have performed better.

What do you guys use and what are your experiences with it?

Thanks. :)

ah, I hate Texaco now! For some reason, I'm only getting 250 miles to a 20 gallon tank on my ls400 and I drive VERY conservatively!

I should be getting 400-450 miles with my kind of driving right now.

Chevron 93 for me. :)

I used to run Amoco. Seemed to run more sluggish with that stuff.

ellhnas, Texaco where i live has premium for around $1.37 right now so i get that all the time. As for changing providers, it may be hear-say but it's not good to do that.

static, i read your post about that thus why it got me curious. I'm hitting only 17 - 18mpg on an 18 gallon tank with Texaco. It's very much in-line with EPA city estimates though but i'm not even doing all city i drive pretty tame. I'm not sure how it will be with different stations.

ISASlot, i've heard quite a lot of good things about Chevron w/ Techron and would love to give it another try... perhaps even stick with it.

well since I live in Canada, some of you guys won't be able to relate.. but I have started only using Petro Canada premium which actually gets me more gas mileage than my normal Shell Gold.. i get between 25-50 more KM per tank! city driving..

excellent gasoline!

If I drive "normal" (right now, I drive very conservatively) I get maybe 300-350 miles to a tank.

If you do math, I'm getting only 12.5 miles per GALLON! (250 miles / 20 gallons)

Now, if it was 350/20 = 17.5 miles / gallon. This is WHAT I should be getting, but nooooooooooooooo.

It costs nearly $30 to fill my tank!

Geez.

Petro Canada winter gas is the best.
It's got gasline antifreeze already added, perfect for Canadian winters!

I am a fan of Spirit of 76 recently. Previously it was Chevron w techron, both give the best mpg average but I like how my accelerator feel/ reacts with 76, a shade better than with Chevron imho. Edit: this opinion was not based on patriotic feelings.

Leaded 115 octane fuel for the racecar engine which ended up being swapped out and put into a pickup truck this past fall cause we blew the trucks stock engine in it. Fun truck after that but it wont run on anything at the corner gas station lol. Things ya do when yer bored and in need....
