Whats the best adware/spyware removal tool?

I need to know what the best antispyware/adware removal program is...Windows Defender couldn't defend windows to save itself.

I know this belongs in the Software forum but I need a response today not next week

Ya, I've been using Windows Defender and it seems like it does nothing. Recently downloaded AdAware and it found 10 items.

Anyway, if you are willing to spend $40ish/year, Webroot Spy Sweeper is excellent. Used it for 1 year and never had a Spyware/Adware issue. I think I'm gonna pick it up again.

Spybot S&D + Spywareblaster = absolutely no spyware.

I also use Firefox as my internet browser though.

I agree Spy Sweeper is a good tool. WinPatrol is also good to identify whats running on your system

If you are more hands on, download Hijack This and CWShredder, they seem to identify a lot of the worse stuff out there..

Windows Defender works well also, but to be sure, go with a combination of a few different spyware removal tools. And then scan with AVGFree for viruses..

Spysweeper, Smitfraudfix and you can also use the Etrust online scanner to get rid of a good number of infected trojans.

Download Smitfraudfix

You can make the scan more successful by running them in safe mode.

Also a initial sweep with Cleanup40 or its latest version will make the scanning process much faster.

Yeah, and the fact that no one has mentioned Spyware Doctor shows you that ATOT isn't the place to ask software questions. I'm not going to link you because you were lazy but google and you'll find plenty of reviews including PC Mag who have done tests and shows that SD is above the rest.
