What's the BEST 939 SLi mobo?

Need to buy one b/c my Asus A8V Deluxe died after about 8 months....THANK YOU ASUS! So I need to get a new one and i'm obviously going to go for SLi now. What's the best one out there (price doesn't really matter for the mobo)?

DFI?
The new Abit Fatal1ty A8N?
*shudder* Asus ?
Gigabyte?

Thanks for the input.

Wait! Have you checked out the new ASUS A8N-SLI Premium? NOT the quirky Dleuxe. It has a passive chipset heat pipe, overclocks almost as well as the DFI, and allows you to select bewteen SLI and non SLI modes within the BIOS, so you don't have to physically switch jumpers or switches on the board. IMHO, it seems like a much better board.

Just wondering, why is everyone hung up on the DFI boards? I can understand if he is looking for massive overclocks, but even still, there are some better boards out there.

Hmm for SLI, possibly. I don't think there's a better NF4 Ultra board than the DFI Ultra-D though.

Well I am replacing an Asus board that died after 8 MONTHS!! I'm not exactly ready to hop on the asus wagon again. On top of that...I HATE THE ASUS WEBSITE! The USA site rarely works and it doesn't work properly with firefox...

oh and....i'm hoping that the DFI won't give my OCZ plat rev 2 ram trouble, will it? I haven't been able to find a place on DFI's site that gives acceptable ram lisings...

True...I believe it's a fluke, but I guess if I had an ASUS die on me, that I would feel the same. I'm sure you can't go wrong with any of the boards really, it just puzzles me on how people sometimes blindly recommend the DFI. Hope you make the right choice 😉!

Buy the DFI Ultra-D,

Get a #2 pencil or circuit writer at radioshack and do the mod, takes 2 seconds,

Bam, you have a SLI motherboard, it even boots up as the SLI version.

The Ultra and SLI chipsets are exactly the same.

True words.

DFI makes the best NF4 boards. Hands down.

it's simple but it's true !

ASUS A8N-SLI Premium

PROs:
- much cleaner layout than the DFI boards
- heatpipe instead of noisy fan
- doesn't have the problems that the deluxe edition had
- can toggle between SLI and nonSLI with software instead of the stupid card thingy

CONs:
- doesn't have the voltage for ram that the DFI boards provide
- crappy onboard sound
- 1394a (instead of the 800 version)

Confirmed.

I'm using Value VX and it's a rockin on this DFI board.

Many, many, many people I have seen on df-street.com are using the OCZ Plat Rev.2 without problems.

You forgot it's no where near as good in ocing as the DFI.

I'd read many good things about the A8N-SLI Premium.

I've never had a bad Asus motherboard either. Still 4 for 4 here.

You might also wait for a few boards based on the new ULi M1695 chipset 🙂

OCZ  DFI

They were practically made for eachother.

honestly, i would LOVE to wait...i WANT to wait...but i don't really have that option. My current asus mobo is now a bookend and i'm w/o a computer. And, as many of my fellow WoW'ers know, it is a physical impossibility to go w/o that game for any extended period of time 🙂 . I was planning on waiting to upgrade when the 7800 ultras come out, but now...i'll just have to go with the gtx's.
