What's the average price for a pack of cigarettes where you live?

Marlboros sell for between $4 and $5 per pack, but a carton sells for about $32. most places.

Look for that to jump quite a bit when Congress and many states pass the newest round of "sin tax" on them...

$8 or so I think. A carton is like $50.

A bazillion times cheaper if you get them from the indian reserves though.

eta; ontario

A little over $5 for major brands like Marlboro or Camel. Well I guess more places are over $5 now, but some are still a little under. Walmart and such is ridiculous @ $6 a pack.

I almost always find a B2G1 on Camels but it is about $12, but still worth it since it's $4/pack.

Just bought some supplies to roll my own last night. It's awesome. 🙂

No idea but I hope they go up to about 100 per pack.

Which will spawn another giant black market for cigs and give organized crime ample
opportunity for profit. Hell, if it worked I would be all for it, that would stop my nicotine
habit for sure but it wont. Cocaine-$60-70 Gm., readily available. Pot-$40 per 1/4 Oz,
readily available..

Depends what brand you buy... Du Mauriers & the premium brands are $9 for a small pack...

The brand I just quit a week ago yesterday - Peter Jackson smooths... they were $6.50 or so

haven't had one in a week. the damage was done though, I feel it in my lungs and notice it on the ice. me = idiot

Yup those are the prices I was thinking about when I posted. Although my store sells the PJs for a bit more about 6.90 I think. And Du Mauriers end up being 9.74 after tax. Brands like the imitation/real Marlboros (real name is Rooftops) and imports like Davidof and Camels are in the 10.50 range after tax.

I think he was mostly posting a statement of distaste for smoking and it's ill effects on health than being literally serious. They will never go up to 100 bucks a pack, without the help of inflation. Most of the countries with more liberal or left leaning governments that have instated heavy taxes on cigs use the tax $ to help fund public health initiatives and health care in general as well as government run anti smoking campaigns. For countries like Canada with universal health care the tax money can also go to offsetting the cost of paying for cancer treatment for those dying of smoking induced cancers. In none of these countries though do cig prices go much above 10 or 12 bucks a pack.

It's about $12 for a pack of regular sized Drums. Indian tobacco is about the same price as American tobacco, $3-4 for a pack.

Looks like about half way to $20 where I said they would be by 2008.

The fatty tax is coming soon. Beware fattys, it's coming.

There's a few places around here where you can get premiums for under $3 if you know where to go. I've seen Kools and Marlboro for $2.87. It fluctuates 10-15 cents.

Southern Louisiana.
