Good morning,
What's the AMD XP Paris?

Will it fit only Athlon64 motherboards or will it fit AthlonXP motherboards?

Thanks,
PCM

The Paris is a 32bit ONLY S754 AthlonXP. It is based on the K8 architechture (so its not a Thorton with extra pins).

This means that in 32bit land, it will have all the performance benefits that the K8 architechture had over the AXP. (A64 2800+ beats the AXP 3000+ easily).

So for those that don't care about 64bit just yet this will be a decent processor. Only drawback is the 256k of L2 cache. Basically the XP is the new "duron".
