Probably Badfinger: " If you want it, Heeeeeeere it is come and get it ....."

It's from a movie called "The Magic Christian" Ringo & Peter Sellers.

It's got Raquel Welch as the task mistress in a boat galley of topless female rowers ...

Not exactly a "Top Ten" movie, but it's definately got some finer / funny points.

FWIW

Well, one of my friends was in my room today and said the Keane song "Somewhere Only We Know" sounds like a mix between the Beatles and Coldplay.

Could be an actual beatles song. I've heard a cover of Come Together on the radio recently, and not the good Soundgarden cover, some other one that was very mediocre.

if it is the badfinger song, it does sound similar since paul mccartney wrote it. he was banging the sister of one of the people in the group so he wrote it as a favor...he did the same thing for a couple other groups too...

What's funny is I knew exactly what song he was talking about (Jet), mostly because it's terrible. If you've seen their music video they've even got the beatles hairstyle.

You think Jet is terrible? Just curious what kind of music you like.

You can only call Jet terrible because they have no originality. They fell into the same slump that all these pop up "The" bands like The strokes, the vines, the hives, etc did and that is that they are trying to steal riffs from the 60's and 70s and call it original music. You cannot call Jet a terrible band because you would be calling Iggy Pop, AC/DC, Bowie, Rolling Stones, Beatles, etc terrible bands. It's humorous that people listen to it and think it's this amazing new sound, get some fvcking musical taste and you'll figure out just how many riffs from their album Get Born are NOTE FOR NOTE from other songs.

In that case, it's just about impossible to make original music today. Everything has been done once or twice in one form or another. Okay, so the solo is played a note down? Big deal.

IMO Jet is terrible because they are commercial pop. I like some modern music, like Franz Ferdinand, but I'm also a huge fan of classic rock like The Who. I simply cannot respect most of the current artists because they aren't making music, they're making money.

It's easy to make original music. Notes and chords and scales can always be altered. It's not uncommon for rock to steal riffs from each other, it happens all the time, but this album is almost exactly just stolen riffs that are not varied at all. Even the lyrics are similar.

Here you go ThePresence, taken from the web:

Last Chance - AC/DC (Highway to Hell, Long Way To The Top, hell, every ac/dc song is the same) - well it's only fitting. jet are aussies so why not try to crack the top 10 strip club playlist.

Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Iggy Pop - Lust for Life, A little Zeppelin - is this on a VW commercial or something? you might actually mistake this song for "Lust For Life" in parts

Rollover D.J. - definitely some riffs stolen right from BTO's Takin' Care of Business - probably others. this song is a lotta fun.

Look What You've Done - the Beatles via Oasis. i wish i remembered calculus so i could get the significance but this is a second derivative! sounds more like oasis than the beatles, but at times really sounds like the beatles. did i just calculate the area under john lennon's acid expanded mind or something?

Get What You Need - the Kinks All the Day And All The Night. is that the name of that song? it seems too long.

Move On - Rolling Stones. Wild Horses, steel guitar and all.

Get Me Outta Here - Alice Cooper, like Love It To Death-era Alice Cooper, not School's Out-era Alice Cooper.
