what's supposed to be easier? flat bench or decline?

i haven't tested it out yet because i always do decline after flat so they're more fatigued.
feels like decline is pretty easy though.

I believe decline bench has a shorter ROM, but flat bench allows you to have a more solid base since you can plant your feet and arch your back more. For most people, the shorter ROM will make more of a difference and if done fresh, decline will be equal to or greater than flat. However, if you're a powerlifter and putting up some huge bench numbers, you probably rely heavily on the very solid base and your probably have a big enough back arch that reduces the ROM on flat bench anyway, so decline might be less.

Normally the lower the angle of your arms the easier the movement. IE a dip would be easier than an overhead press given equal weight.
