Not to mention, if this is a phone, pushing the HW that hard for extended amounts of time isn't good for the phone. Phones are meant for sporadic use.

Link please. Until proven otherwise this is nonsense.

Nonsense?

Have you ever pushed a phone's hardware? Seen how hot it got?

First of all there is battery drain. If you want to do something meaningful on your phone for a long time, you have to have it plugged in.

But this conflicts with another problem - heat. Phones can get extremely hot when running at full capacity. And sustained high temps are not only bad for the SoC, but they are especially bad for the battery. The same battery that has to be plugged in, charging and generating even more of a heat load.

A lot of phones have automatic shutdown or charge disabling in these situations.

If I'm going to connect controllers and a TV to something that runs games, then it better play games designed for a real controller and not tapping/swiping the screen like an idiot. And it better not have the annoying "smart device" quirks like "Apple decided this game was too violent and deleted it." So, I might as well use a real console, or better yet - play on my PC, where I can get around pretty much any annoying issue that pops up.

Oh, but I forget - according to the "experts" the PC is dead or dying. I suppose I better throw out my desktop and join the herd... :D

Tegra 4 and Snapdragon 800 will likely produce graphics that rival the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, however, I've yet to see a mobile game that captivates my time as much as even something with simplistic graphics as Pokemon Red/Blue released for the original Game Boy in 1998 in the US.

Graphical quality is not the issue here. It never has been.
