DVD player. $70 for a damned DVD player is just sad. I like winDVD, but I refuse to pay $70 for it. :|
Exactly. The software costs more than going out and buying a hardware DVD player (complete with software, DVD drive, and decoding hardware).

VLC is free 😕

They recently shutdown Zap2It's free program guide data service. It has since been replaced by http://www.schedulesdirect.com . They charge $15 for 6 months for a service that used to be free. Granted, that's really a nominal fee, but it sucks that it used to be free.

They are even shooting for a price reduction of $20 for 12 months, and I believe they'll do it soon enough. Hell, they had only been live for like a month before they brought their price down from $15 for 3 months to the current $15/6mos offer. The service is good, anyway, so it's totally worth it.

FICO score, not like it's hard for them to do.

You can get your FICO score free 365 days of the year.

That would be your credit report. The score costs extra.

I am not talking about a credit report I am talking about your actual FICO score 365 days of year for free.

How about posting actual useful information instead of just saying that you can do it. Because I disagree.

i dont know why yahoo feels we should be charged for this.

If it wasn't updated in a few seconds out of real time, then I could see it not being worth paying for. But I gotta disagree with you here because they already let you do fantasy leagues for free, and they are probably the best online place to do it.

Why do you wish there was no cost to use services like rentacoder or eBay? Finding a buyer/seller/coder and paying for that service is part of the cost of doing business. You can go to craigslist, AT FS/FT, etc. if you don't want to pay fees.
Yes, I know that, but if there were a site such as rentacoder.com or eBay where it WAS free, wouldn't you probably use it over the website (assuming it was decent, that is)
No - because every time i use rentacoder I know I'm paying not only for the work being done but for the PROTECTION there - I've had to use arbitors once and it was nice to have that level of protestion there. Ebay/Paypal same thing. Your paying for all the people that work for you when something goes wrong.

Sites like match.com/yahoo personals/eharmony, etc I think its wrong to be charging people for match making when you have an automated process. Ads are cool for that sorta thing but the prices many of them charge are just beyond comprehension.

except for the fact that ebay/paypal could care less about their "customers". They have the hands down worst CS of any company i have ever seen.

Yeah. You can get free credit reports from all three agencies once a year, but they do not include the credit score.

Sure, you can get a "free" credit score by applying for a mortgage or by subscribing to a trial of one of those credit monitoring services, but that's a big hassle.

MMOs

Yeah, I'd agree with that. It's sad that Blizzard not only charges customers $40 for WoW and an additional $30 for the WoW expansion pack, but they sock them for $13 a month on top of that!?!

Sure, I understand the need to charge more to the addicts who play more than 20 hours a week, but the installation package itself should come with at least a 3 month subscription.

I am not talking about that either. This is a actual free way.

Sadly, VLC is not legal in the United States (it's violating CSS licensing, the DMCA for CSS, and MPEG2 licensing, among other things).

Well, seeing how I failed to read all of the thread, I guess I could have made a mistake.

Not to mention that free porn is everywhere. Yes even high quality. Being ignorant of some thing's existence does not make it fail to exist...

Yeah I know a site that has high quality porn, not that I watch it....

(I really don't, I don't want to DL the DivX or whatever it is)
