I'm a big fan of the Durkee's Hot Sauce. It's not really all that hot, but it adds sooooo much flavor.

The hottest i've ever had was called "Pure Cap". It was concentrated pure capsicin (sp), which is the chemical that makes hot peppers hot. I had ONE DROP on a soda cracker (from an eyedropper) and I was in tears for half an hour, and I LOVE hot food.

I gave my dad a bottle as a stocking stuffer that year. <evil grin>

<< Crystal and Trappey's Red Devil are my favorites. >>

Trappey's Peppers in Vinegar are really good too...especially on greens.

I stick to the holy Trinity of hotsauces in Louisiana: Tabasco, Crystal, and Trappey's. They're all you need, IMO. :)

My favorites are "Possible Side Effects" hot sauce and Bite Me! Lime-Cilantro hot sauce. Another good mild sauce is Blair's Jalapeno Death Sauce with Tequila, it's got a nice flavor.

I like Frank's for general all-purpose use as it tastes good and adds heat without being painful. But for special occasions when you really want to bring a tear to your eyes, Dave's Insanity is the way to go. I've never seen Crystal around here in the northeast, but it sounds like it would be worth trying. Is it regional?

Booyah! Franks Redhot is the best bc it's so tasty! Salty foods and vinegary foods are the best. If I need more spice on food, I use Tabasco. Unfortunately, Tabasco really isn't salty enough; it's vinegary and hot without any salt. So the vote goes to Frank's Redhot :)
