What's some good Coffee House Music??

MOst of the coffee houses I've been to play jazz (real jazz, not the easy listening smooth stuff). Is that what you want? I can suggest some if that's what you want to listen to. Start with Miles Davis' "Kind Of Blue".

what kind of dept. store? Like Penney's or something?

Beast's suggestion of Acoustic Alchemy is a good one... given the type of place you're talking about you'd be better off with something more benign than real jazz. Here are some other suggestions:
