I dunno it just seems like maybe supporting one's favorite company and getting whatever is in the price/performance range for that company would be a better approach ....

I think you must be the only one who remebmers AMD being the only dual core game in town, since Intel had their dual core P4's out before AMD.![]()

AMD had theirs out a month before Intel. AMD's dual core Opteron came out on 22 April 2005, Pentium D on May 25, 2005, and AMD X2 on 31 May 2005.
