What's something pretty cool that your state or city has that no other has. Something you're proud of.

Please don't say something like "uhhh lots of hot chicks" or "the beach"

Try to think of something original other people wouldn't know about...

I'll start

Ohio's the birthplace of 4 presidents, birthplace of the Wright Brothers, and has 2 Awesome Theme Parks with some of the top 10 rollercoasters.

I think we may also have had the most Playboy Playmates but I'm not 100% on that...

Illinois good:

90% of the population lives within 50 miles of Chicago.
Chicago is home to the original Polar Bears who go diving in lake Michigan in the middle of the winter.
Route 66.
Home of the brain damaging rollercoaster, Shockwave.
Snow in the winter, and sun in the summer, best of both worlds.
Home 'O Prez with stove pipe hat.

Illinois Bad:
2 seasons, Construction and winter.
No hidden compartment in car law passed.
Everyone thinks if you live in illinois, you grew up in the city. ( not nessisarly a bad thing)

Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada: Home of the biggest environmental disaster in North America (the tar ponds, created by a steel plant over the course of 100 years), and the biggest salt water lake in the World. :) Go us! :D

You forgot about the first ever McDonalds being built in Des Plaines? Or John Wayne Gacy who lived in the same suburb?

South Sacramento is so beautiful this time of year...

Ghetto houses that cost $250,000.

Gang Bangers, drug dealers, crack whores, and pervs that snatch little kids.....
(and those are the good neighbors)

Could be worse, I guess I could still be living in Detroit

Minnesota: The land of 11,842 lakes. We also have more than 90,000 miles of shoreline. Wheaties, waterskiing, snowmobiles, and masking/scotch tape were also invented here.

Hawaii

-it's an island (beaches!)
-great weather
-on average, people here are nicer than most places I've been
-in a sense, it is extremely diverse (ethnic "minorities" are the majority here) -- yet is is also somewhat of a culturally conservative place
-SPAM is an honored and serious food preference (for many)
-we have an active volcano (that is generally quite friendly as long as it is respected)

*checks thread title to confirm that it askes for cool things about states or cities. Confirms that indeed it does.*
