but I agree with tabb: very noisy (except almost all drives that fast are about as noisy) and they generate a lot heat.

Except the ones made by LG. Even when it's at 48x, you can barely hear anything.
 
Since my plextor 16x died ... I've had a liteon 32x and its been great ....

My Brother alse had a plextor 16x that died ...... and he bought a liteon ...



Cheap and so far ... Reliable ... good
