Well... if you self softmodded the 9500... Id consider softmodding to be riskier than overclocking but hey I dont judge.

As far as I can gather, its quite like overclocking a CPU. Crank it up a notch, run something heavy on it, wait until it heats up and see what happens.

My 9800Pro can handle 435/379 for about 1 hour load before i can notice artifacts on stock cooling. I usually use 430/375 for 30-60 minute bursts of gaming with AA/AF... i dont bother overclocking without AA/AF as Im happy without it usually.

So I should maybe just leave it alone at 9700np speeds? I looped 3Dmark2001SE for hours and bought the card pretested. Not a single problem one. But if pushing it even more is little bit to risky I'd rather pass because I'd hate for my new video card to poop out on me in a coupel months just because I pushed it to hard.

Was thinking maybe I could just enable o/cing when I play high end games like Far Cry and then disable once finished. Any other game runs perfect at max settings. Although I got another 512mb OCZ coming(got it in a trade) in the mail and after putting that in Far Cry may run silky smooth.
