What's one thing you would change about today's US govn't?

the corruption, pork projects and have them for the people instead of for the business for a start.

JK, I would adopt something like China's exam system for the government workers like the Song & Ming dynastys. Too many people get free rides

Current system does not work in rehabilitating the poor. On one hand you have the people who abuse the system and stay under welfare their whole lives, and on the other you have those who are trying to get out of it, but can't since they're kicked out of government housing as soon as they get a job.

if you make it that hard no one would qualify, unless of course you offer a ridiculous salary. Back then the government positions you tested for basically set you up for life so there was a lot more motivation to do well.
 
get rid of the lobbyists, the soft money, pork, special interests and welfare.....I know that's more than one but hey, I got on a roll. 😛

I really wish it woudl get out of the business of telling people how to live their lives, or regulating institutions that have never existed.

no, basically welfare was designed as a way for people to get back on their feet and get back into the workforce. but alot of people have been collecting the checks and not working.

No, in that some people are taking in welfare checks and using the money to make their asses fat instead of getting an education

um.. without a big salary incentive no one would bother. i dont think the government can support a 100K + salary for all government workers
