thanks

I have some of the Costco stuff you're talking about (http://www.bltllc.com/g-floor_main.htm). I can't paint the floor because I rent, but this stuff works OK. It doesn't have a problem with rolling up as it's pretty heavy.

The only problem I have is that jackstands will leave marks on it. It also stains if you leave spilled fluids on it for a long time, but that's OK for me.

I want to do my floor. It's stained dark which makes the whole inside darker...it was built before expoxies so it was probably the best way to go then.

Thing that is going to suck is taking everything out to do it right. I have seen at least a half dozen floors now where the previous owners just cut around stuff in their garages to do it. My driveway is white concrete and I'd love to get it done as well.

The rubber mats SUCK. I have about $2000 worth and I ended up just throwing them in the back yard. Ugly and they don't sit flat.

Rustoleum probably isn't the best one to get, they tend to flake.

If you want to do epoxy, prep is very very VERY important. You want to get the surface totally clean and oil free. Getting the cement a bit rough helps too.

This is one of the best choices (price/performance) from the different comparison's I've read:

http://www.epoxy-coat.com/

thanks! epoxy-coat does sound good from the price/performance standpoint. the site doesn't get too detailed on the prep work required. what exactly do i need to do? i have an electric powerwasher that i bought from costco a while back, probably around 1500psi...do i need to rent equipments to grind the floor?

Yeah, if you're going to go through the trouble of of doing a coating, you may as well use a good one. It's worthwhile.

In general, you want to clean and then acid etch the floor, then use a diamond grinder head to create a nice surface. Then, clean all the debris, and coat.

Some people skip the grinding, though it is best to do that.
