After doing a search and finding AMD's latest roadmap, it seems the X2 roadmap ends with the "Toledo" core. Does anyone have any information about future core revisions or whats instore for the X2 next? I've heard whispers about some M2 thing, but don't think that's till 2nd half of 2006. I'm just trying to grasp what's coming down the pipe next and when.

Thanks guys

M2 is the latest thing we know, it features an updated Memory Controller, DDR2 support, and higher clockspeeds. Im sure their are a few core optimizations in it too. Other than that nothing else is really on the horizon. AMD is very comfortable (perhaps too comfortable) with their current standings. It will be interesting to see how things play out when, next year, Intel releases its new Processor.

Any guess if they want to go 1207 later? I read they had changed their mind and would go 940 pins which only allows a dual core. I'd like to see quad cores. :p

Orleans? Windsor? STOP WITH THE CITY NAMES!!!!!

I wonder if they've considered a Manhattan core...it would be nice to have a CPU named after my home city :D

The Manhattan project.... could be a good code name next time they "drop a bomb" on Intel's camp :p

Unless I miss my guess Manhattan is not a city... unless you're talking about Manhattan, Kansas.

Well.. They've had Newcastle and Winchester, so how about my dad's hometown: LEEDS! Plus Birmingham would be an honourable nod as well ;) .

Nah, they need to name it "Columbus" - discovering a new land in CPU design. :D

Colombus didn't discover America. He was an idiot who stumbled upon it (IMO).

On topic ... I think all we know of right now is M2. Beyond that, my crystal ball doesn't work. :(

Yeah, Columbus didn't discover America - but most people associate it with him anyway. Ignorance is bliss. :D
