What's my system worth?

Hi all,

I've got an Athlon XP 2500+ with 512 MB of OCZ Gold memory on an Abit AN7 board. The system includes a 120 Gig WD 7200 RPM Hard Drive and an ATI 9600 Pro All in Wonder card in it. The case is a green Aspire Super X-Alien with 500W 'see thru' power supply and a 16x DVD writer. I'd be selling the system with a KDS CRT 17" monitor.

What would be a reasonable selling price for this machine?

I paid $1100 dollars for the system when I bought it from NewEgg.

I believe price checks are against forum rules. If I were you, I'd keep it and find some use for it. HTPC perhaps? How much you get for it will depend a lot on how lucky you are. I think a legit price would be much lower than the $1100 you spent.

Actually, I'd love to keep the system, but I can't afford to go to a new proc and pci-x if I don't sell this one. I apologize if I went against forum rules. I've checked online on similar systems but nothing quite matches up to mine spec wise. The parts are good quality stuff I think, best I could get for the money when I built it. Thanks for your input though.

You'll get a lot more if you part it out. If you're going to build a new pc, just sell the mobo, CPU, RAM, & video card and use the same case and drives. The CRT obviously isn't worth anything. You'd probably get more for just the 4 parts I mentioned than you would if you sold it as a system.
