What's my problem??

I have an older custom built pc made up of various parts. I think it's a 1.2 Athlon with a 1GB RAM running Ubuntu and XP on Dual boot.

The other day i turn it on and it clears the BIOS and powers itself off. Pressing the power switch does nothing. Checked all of the normal things like the cord, power outlet, and it all checked out ok. Since it was an old computer and I didn't want to invest any more money in that one, i bought a new one.

Fast forward to last night... I plug up the old computer... AND IT BOOTS! I still have a use for this computer if its not completely dead. For it to be dead for a week or so and then magically work again.... what part you think is bad? The power supply or motherboard?
