What's my best backup option for my setup?

I have 2 pcs, an HTPC & a gaming pc.

My HTPC: a p35-ds3r, e-6750, 6gb, intel X-25M 80GB, 3X2TB, 2X1.5TB, ATI 5850, windows 7 ultimate X64, thermaltake toughpower 750W (W0116) and a cooler master Storm Scout case.

My gaming pc: asrock z77 extreme 4, 3570k, 16gb, 3X1TB, 3X500GB ,Crucial M4 256GB, NZXT HALE82 750W and a Fractal Design Define XL R1 case.

I usually backup stuff from my pc to my HTPC and visa versa, so I have an identical copy of every file I have on both systems. I'm getting tired of manually doing this, I've looked into raid options, but since I've never used raid before, I'm kinda worried that I might lose all my stuff. What are my options? something that will automatically backup new added files from my pc to my HTPC (both connected to a gigabit router) overnight or something? Or should I install windows home server on my HTPC and house ALL the drives in it? I use my htpc for HD & 3D movie watching, browsing, listening to music, light gaming.

TIA

I would probably build a server & consolidate all those drives. Get an ssd for the htpc & stream from the server. The issue with this is that you won't have the duplication you have now. whs11 will do automatic backups & work pretty well without worrying about raid.

Thanks, whs sounds like the best option in my case then!
